Ohio restaurants don’t have to pay sales tax on things used for:
- Food Preparation
- Food Preservation
- Food Equipment Cleaning
In addition, Ohio restaurants don’t have to pay sales tax on:
- Certain décor items
- Design Services – used for new and remodeled restaurants
- CO2 for soft drinks
If the item is exempt, then also exempt are:
- Installation
- Freight and delivery charges
- Warranties and service contracts
- Repairs and parts
